Do invoice payments need to be associated with a project in order to be tracked on my Schedule?

No. When you create an invoice it’s not required to associate the invoice to a project. An invoice without a project will still show up on your Schedule displayed in a separate row for the client labeled “Unknown Project.” This ensures that the total expected or collected revenue displayed on your Schedule is always accurate.
